Shepherd's Shelf is an equal opportunity provider. Clients receive food assistance regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and marital or family status.
The food comes from donations from the members of Christ Lutheran Church, other local churches, community groups, local food drives, local farms, fraternal organizations and local corporations.
A large portion of the food distributed is purchased from agencies such as Philabundance and regional food wholesalers as well as active relationships with Giant-Harleysville, Freddy Hill Farms, and Lehigh Valley Dairies.
During the summer months, the Shepherd's Shelf Sharing Garden provides fresh organic produce grown on Christ Lutheran Church property as well as donations from Garden of Health, Souderton Mennonite Garden, Advent Lutheran Church and other local gardeners.
We receive diapers and Feminine Hygiene products from the Mitzvah Circle Foundation.
The Shepherd’s Shelf is also receiving weekly produce donations from Living Hope Farm.
